A truly delightful and quintessential stay at the beautiful Hambleton Hall. We loved how traditional and beautiful it is, there are a couple of reviews stating it's a bit out dated but the charm here is how it feels like you're starring in …

Outstanding. The food was excellent and the bedroom was just lovely overlooking the lake. Perfect stay. This was a return visit and we have already booked to visit again next year. Idyllic country retreat. You leave feeling refreshed and spoilt. Thank you.

Wonderful traditional hotel with amazing food in a beautiful house. Feels like you’re staying with friends. Every need is thought of and service is perfection. Many thanks to all the staff for a lovely weekend. We can’t wait to return in the Summer when the weather may be kinder!

What a fabulous hotel. Michelin starred restaurant which is not to be missed! Attention to detail is paramount here, every member of staff is invested in the service and experience of a stay or visit here. We had a top floor room with an amazing view over Rutland Water. Warm air heating and single glazed windows were the only niggles. EV charging in the car park though, bonus!

Absolutely the finest food we have ever eaten. Service was incredibly professional. Friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The sommelier was a walking encyclopedia and gave wonderful advice. All staff were superb in every parameter.

Masses of old world charm here. The terrace has an incredible view over Rutland Water, is beautifully landscaped and manicured. The staff were warm, knowledgeable and clearly very well instructed as the bar and restaurant run like a well oiled machine. Super courteous, but friendly with it. The food and wines were, as you'd expect from a Michelin star venue, exemplary. I literally ate everything served, which is actually unusual for finicky me, and my anaphylactic allergy was taken reassuringly seriously and accommodated to. The reception staff and porters were really welcoming and helpful, and sitting in front of a roaring fire with a "proper" hot chocolate, nibbling on in-house shortbread was an added treat!

A beautiful house with beautiful gardens and a beautiful view. The food was fantastic! Something a little more traditional but truly excellent and deserving of more than one Michelin Star!
Food & drinks: The food was absolutely superb. Our friends have been coming here for nearly 30 years but it was our first time. Beautifully presented dishes and, most importantly, every item in each dish had been thought about and how it all worked together.
The crab was delicious, the venison was superb - easily the best I’ve ever had in quality and the way it was cooked. But the mille feuille was fantastic and easily the most beautifully presented, delicate and delicious I’ve had.

Photography in the dining room is discouraged, but the website photo tells you everything you need to know. The lunch for less menu has perfect portions in the well-orchestrated dining room while pre and after-dinner drinks in the day room made the whole experience very memorable
