We had our wedding reception at Halfmoon Farm in August 2023 and it was perfect. The setting was idyllic and so many people commented on how amazing the views were - very unique to have a reception overlooking water.
Tom was fantastic. Helpful with every request including driving his tractor up against our fridge trailer doors as security! He is a lovely person and was great to deal with.
The venue has everything from a practical perspective - parking, electricity, water supply, skip.
We strongly recommend half moon farm!
My family stayed 5 min walk down the road at Finch’s Arms which I’d also highly recommend.

Half Moon Farm is a real treasure in the heart of the beautiful Rutland countryside! We had our wedding party here at the end of May 2023 and it was a beautiful day from start to finish. We met Tom and viewed the field a year before and just knew this was the spot to celebrate. Tom was incredible and supported all our ideas. He was on hand to assist with our chosen suppliers, and he helped us map out and design the putting greens as we wanted to make sure we used the field to its full potential. All our friends and family had an amazing time - thank you to the Griffin family for sharing this wonderful and idyllic space.

We hired Halfmoon Farm as the location to set up our wedding reception in August 2022 and the location and whole experience with the farm owners could not have been more perfect. Our original first choice for the marquee had been Whitwell Point, which was unavailable on our date, but we are eternally grateful for this as the farm was so perfect.
Halfmoon Farm is an absolutely stunning location, with views out across the fields to the water, making for great photos. The field itself is huge, which gave us space for a marquee for 100 people, a bouncy castle, soft play, outdoor seating and games and a BBQ – despite all of the equipment, half the space in the field was still left. Even the guest parking is idyllic, with cars being parked along the edge of a beautiful working farm field, meaning we had some of our wedding photos taken in the car park! The fact that the farm is out on the Hambleton peninsula also means that it is very private, which was something we really valued.
Tom was fantastic at answering our many questions in advance of our wedding, and went out of his way to ensure we could load and store the fridge trailer securely overnight before the event and towed the trailer over to the site for us the morning of. This gave us peace of mind over the safety of our drinks and the equipment. We also got to meet his dad when loading the trailer, who was a delightful person that helped us with plugging it in etc. Logistics were really straightforward for us and our guests, specifically: access to the field, access to power and water, signposting to parking.
Thank you so much for letting us use this space for our wedding.

Tom at Half Moon Farm was absolutely brilliant and provided such a great service for our wedding day. The field was immaculate and the view is simply stunning. Tom was easy to work with, approachable with questions and made the whole planning process so smooth.
